I am installing SuSE 8.0 on a Compaq Presario 715US laptop. This is a Athlon machine with S3 twister video. This has a touchpad mouse on the keyboard.

For the money it is a good machine.


After installing Linux the mouse will not behave correctly. The mouse pointer displays about an inch off where it selects and in the far right and bottom inch of the screen I can not get the mouse pointer to enter, but it does select from this area.

I have tried a MS intellimouse via the USB board and the exact same situation occurs.


Anyone got an idea what I am missing?

Use Yast or SaX2 to configure it, via the shell
