Hi all, I have just installed slack 9.1 with kde3.1.4 ...
All works fine but the mouse (a standard PS/2 wheel mouse) does not want to make me wheeeeeel :-)

I have make all the changes by hand in the XF86Config, but when I go in kde control center it don't take the correct info about the mouse......in the cc I see nothing is configured about it....

What can I do?????

did you add the

Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

line to your mouse's config in XF's config file?

Now....really i forgot the ZAxisMapping. I insert it but nothing seems to go yet.
The strange thing is that in KDE Control Center - mouse section - it don't let me select NOTHING!
I see only the mouse type (USB, PS/2, etc) but i can not select nothing in model and port....if I go on and save the configuration i find that it write these lines in XF86Config:

Identifier "Mouse"
Option "Protocol" ""
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Driver "mouse"
EndSection

What can I do???????
Thx !!

Change this file as well :-)

The changes to XF86Config must also be made to /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 (as root) if you are using the default (later) version of XFree86 (4.x). The following line should be entered exactly as below (with the quotation marks) at the bottom of the section
Code:
Section "Input Device"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" (as mentioned in the earlier post - thanks! this fixed it for me )

Then logout of your session (the Window Manager needs to restart), and log back in again.

TaDAAAAA!

Kewl, no?

Hope this does it for you as it did for me.

Jim
