Angry Mouse Pointer Disappears

Installed Fedora Core 5 x86-64 on new HP a1430n. This is an Athlon 3800 X2 Socket 939 on an Asus Nvidia GeForce 6150LE chip set. When X starts mouse pointer becomes invisible. It is still there and the buttons work - you just can't see it. Switch to text mode and mouse is back. Also tried 32 bit OS and it does exactly the same.
Thanks
Terry

Have you tested any other mice to see if it does the same?
