Mouse not working in X

My mouse (ttyS0) works as it should in bash, but when I enter X, it just disappears and doesn't follow any of my movements.

What should I do?

In FC, you can type setup and choose mouse configuration.
In Mandrake, you can try mcc ,and edit your mouse.
(And so on)
or
read the man page and
edit /etc/X11/Xorg.conf or /etc/X11/XFree86.conf

If your mouse is indeed ttyS0, i believe that is a serial mouse.

Last time I checked xorg.conf on a FC5 box it said somthing about serial mice no longer being supported.

Oh. Poor me: the PS/2 socket is broken.

Is there no way of making serial mice work?
