Mouse not working

I just recently swtiched from RH8 to RH9. In RH9 I've coem across what I think is a pretty strange problem: My mouse and keyboard don't work. This all by itself wouldnt be that strange, but theres more. Anytime I log in as a user name the mouse and keyboard work for around a minute then the entire screen freezes. Anytime I log in as root there is no problem. I have a logitech wireless keyboard. Any suggestions?

i guess the first thing would be to check the new XF86Config file.

and maybe a longshot, but what about batteries? (i.e., are they on the way out if in fact they run on batteries.)

Well, its not the batteries, because the mouse and beyboard both work as long as I am logged in as root. Its just when i'm logged in as my user name that is the problem. Do you happen to know where the XF86Config file is located, and what I'm looking for??
