After I rebuilded kernel (Linux RedHat 9, kernel 2.4.20), my mouse does not want to work any more. I reverted old kernel (the one that comes with RedHat 9, Shrike), modules, and initrd image back - mouse still does not work! No any errors in boot log. I tried different mouses of different types (serial and USB) - the same result (they all work fine on the same pc under windoze). If I reinstall RedHat - mouse works.... as soon as I rebuild kernel - does not. What I change in the kernel is I turn on ntfs support, and turn off scsi, amateur radio and such.
Yesteday, I tried installing latest stable kernel (2.4.22) hoping it would help.. nothing
Still I am booting up smothly, no any errors, everything is fine except for the mouse. I see cursor in the center of the screen, but can not move it. I did try to reconfigure mouse by setup utility. No luck.
This is how i rebuild kernel:
make mrproper
make menuconfig
make dep
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
Anyone has an idea what is giong on?
Thanx,
Altair
