Mounting Windows Filesystem

Mandrake 91 hangs on boot up on the smb and after hitting enter it boots ok, however, cannot access the window$ machine on the network, right clicking shows it to be mounted and chmod is 777 but I am unable to get access to the dir..... network works ok with the windows parttion but not Mandrake, web is ok. any ideas ?

Just to make sure, do you have Network file systems enabled on your kernel?

Is SAMBA services installed. If it is uninstall it and re-install it. The files could be corrupted during installation.

Are you able to use smbclient to access your Windows system.

Did you check the logs. What did it say.

If you download iso images. Did you check all iso images before making CDs.

WOW, thanks electro for the reply, I am so new to most of this that Im not sure about a lot of what your talking of but I will delete and reinstall Samba and see whats up.

as for Loke , Im not sure how to do that but should by days end.
