mounting usb zipdrive and mouse problem

Hi I'm a newb to the forum but have been using linux for years, and while I know enough to get by usually I've run into a few problems with a Redhat 9.0 installation.

I have a zip 250. On my old computers with built in zipdrives a /mnt/zip250 directory / mount point existed. This doesn't exist on my current computers... so how do I mount my zipdrive?

Also I'm using a USB keyboard and mouse but if I don't keep an old ps2 mouse plugged in kudzu says the mouse is missing and I get a text instead of graphical login and my usb keyboard and mouse won't work. What's the deal?
