Welcome to LQ :-)

You need to mount the hard disk to use it.
But before that the hard disk must have a partition.

If its a empty disk, here are some tips to use it

. Check the harddisk ide [hdb / hdc / hdd ]
. Create a partition
Use
fdisk /dev/<harddiskide>

Type m for help and create the partition

. Format the partition
Use
mkfs.ext3 /dev/hdc1
[If hdc1 was the partition u created]

. Finally mount the partition in a directory you created
mount /dev/hdc1 /media/harddisk

My disk is not empty really. I am mounting it to another computer because the system can not continue booting, and I need to copy my files on it. T.Y.

Ok , then connect the disk as a Primary slave [hdb] [If the disk is not getting detected , probably the jumper setting must be wrong.]

This can be checked in the BIOS itself [as to if the disk is getting detected or not]

The a mount command should be enough to mount the disk and copy your files.

If the above method is not working, be a bit more descriptive as to what the problem is.

Ok my second hard disk has correct jumper settings because it has been detected in the BIOS. However it is not yet appear in the storage media. What will I do next? Where will I go next? Is there a command prompt in Fedora Core 4? How to go there? Where will I type those commands you've told me, like the a mount command. Thank You and please be patient.

For a terminal just go to Run
and enter

xterm

This will open up a terminal.

Or for the orginal consoles press

Alt+F1
Alt+F2 etc [There will be 6 consoles till F6]

Alt+F7 will bring back the GUI window.

In the console you can enter the mount, fdisk commands and check if harddisk has been detected.

Try these commands

fdisk -l /dev/hdb

mount
