Mounting Second drive and supported by kernel


I was mounting my second drive and got this error

# mount /dev/sdb


mount: fs type ext not supported by kernel

How would i update kernel or is there other way?

please post your fstab
and what kind of hard drive...ide,scsi
what other drives you have.

two scsi Harddrive

two tings:
/dev/sdb1 /mnt/Drive2 ext defaults 1 1 # need to add the 1 for the partition

and make sure you used fdisk to setup a partition, unless you know it already has one on it.

try:
/dev/sdb1 /mnt/Drive2 ext2 defaults 1 2

when you used fdisk, what type of partition did you make?

can you make it an ext3 partition?
