Mounting/Permissions issue w/ external HDD enclosure (Debian)

I plugged my harddrive into USB before even booting up. Turned it on, booted into linux. The drive appears mounted, however when I try to browse the device I get the following error popup:

It also says the contents is unreadable o.O:

I didn't have a problem with this before, and I was able to play all my music/videos off of that harddrive. I don't know why it's not working.

Have you tried to shutdown your system, and reboot without the drive plugged in? Then plug it in, after you get logged in as a 'normal' user? It could be (note the "Could"...), that it mounted as root when the system booted, and your 'normal' user can't access it. Can you access it after logging in as root? What are the permissions on the mount point?
