Mounting Linux ISOs for use when install CD required

Well I created ISO images of my FC3 installation CDs thinking I could probably mount them to the same mount point as the CD device and that way I wouldnt have to always insert the discs when they were required by the system.

I worked out how to mount the images using the following command:
Code:
mount /somepath/fedora-core-3-disc1.iso /media/cdrecorder -t iso9660 -o loop,uid=myuser.gid=myuser
I can browse the mount point and see the contents of the ISO image as if it were the CD in the drive. But messages such as "Insert disc 1 of Fedora Core 3 and press OK" do not recognise it.

I figure it is because they are trying to access the CD device directly (id /dev/xxxx) rather than the mount point. Is there some way to get around this and have them see the ISO instead??
