Mounting ipod with USB on redhat 9

Short story is, I bought a new ipod, and I used a windows laptop to configure and format it using the software provided by Mac. Now I would like to try using it with gtkpod, but I haven't the slightest idead of how to mount it. I'm using Red Hat 9, and a USB 2.0 connection to the ipod. Any suggestions?
