Mounting hd hdb*

I have installed Mandrake 9.1 on a new hd - also have win xp on it.
My old hd had Mandrake 9.0 on it along with win xp.
The configuration is this.

The new hd is the master - the old one is the slave.

What I want to do is read hdb* (the slave) from my new 9.1 install
which is the master.

I tried to mount hdb* but it doesnt work.

What am I missing here??

what is hdb*? it should be hdb1 or hdb2, also you have to specify the partition type, so it must look likes this

mount -t ext3 /dev/hdb1 /<mount point>
