mounting a USB stick..

hey guys i would like to start off by saying Happy New Year

but iam having a problem now LOL... i have a USB memory stick.. and i would like the mount it.. and put stuff on it.. this is what i have done..

first off i made sure to have usb-storage installed... thats fine.. then i added these lines in my fstab:

# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
/dev/hda2 / reiserfs defaults 0 0
/dev/hda1 none swap sw 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs noauto,user 0 0 <------ ADDED
/dev/fd0 /floppy auto user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdb /cdrom iso9660 ro,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdc /cdrw iso9660 rw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/hdd /dvdrw iso9660 rw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/sda1 /usbstick auto user,noauto 0 0 <------- ADDED

then in my /etc/modules i added usb-storage

so then i restart and go to mount it " mount /usbstick" and it says it cant find the file system type.. i must specify it?

what do i need to do?
