mounting a sandisk mp3 player


i just got a sandisk 256mb mp3 player. is there a way to mount it in linux? or is it possible to transfer songs on to it from linux? it plugs into a usb port

i -think- you can just go thru the raw port...

when i put my fujifilm camera (with no linux software)
i just went to
/dev/sda1 and copied the *.jpg's from there..
it's probably similar for the mp3 player...

What commands have you run in order to try to mount it? You will probably need to run something like
Code:
mount /dev/sdax /mnt/<directory>
where 'x' is the actual number of the device, and <directory> is your mountpoint name. -- J.W.

yeah.. sorry i've been out for a day...

mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /{mount point}
where {mount point} is a dir you've already created...
yeah...
i did the whole -t vfat thing....
you may or may not have to do that.
