Mounting a Digital Camera

I'm running Slackware 10.2 (Current) and purchased a Fuji FinePix A330. I checked HCL before purchasing.

However, I can't figure out how to mount the camera. I've tried

mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/flash

but I get the message that sda1 is not a valid device. I know it is valid because I use that device to mount my memory stick. (Hence, the folder /mnt/flash). Of course, my memory stick isn't mounted when I'm attempting this.

I've search the postings but can't find anything that help. I don't need to recompile the kernel right because I can't mount my memory stick?

Thanks.

Also the camera is appearing in Konqueror as /dev/sda1. But when I try to mount it via Konq, I get the message that the filesystem type can't be determined.

Check under /var/log/messages to make sure it's assigning the correct device assignment. Then let root mount it with "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/flash" adjusting the device accordingly. Also, you don't have any other options setup in /etc/fstab for your flash drive that might conflict with the digital camera do you?
