mount: wrong fs type, bad option

Hello

I've a problem with a second hard disk on my fedora system. The system doesn't boot unless I comment out /dev/hdc in /etc/fstab.

Trying to manually mount /dev/hdc gives:
mount: wrong fst type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdc, or too many mounted file systems

fsck -p /dev/hdc gives:
fsck.ext2: Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in short read while trying to open /dev/hdc.

Any ideas out there? Many thanks.

Just wanted to add that when I do fdisk -l /dev/hdc, this is what it gives:

Disk /dev/hdc: 251.0GB
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30515 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

RE: mount: wrong fs type, bad option

Do you have just one partition on that drive or several?
fdisk -l /dev/hdc will tell you what is on that drive ... Oops air brain moment there!

Sounds like you don't have any partitions defined on the drive or maybe...

You don't have any partitions.

You can only mount partitions, not drives.

First partition your hard drive and then use something like:
mount /dev/hdc1 /mnt/mountpoint
