Mount removable disk without root access and fstab entry - possible?
Hi.
I am sitting in front of my work computer and would like to mount a removable (usb) disk somehow.
Problem:
a) The disk is not in the fstab
b) I don't have root access
c) pmount is not present
This is a debian box, cat /proc/version yields
Linux version 2.6.15.2 (root@tapc) (gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-13)) #2 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 2 12:40:40 PST 2006
dmesg tells me that the disk is recognized OK, but there is no corresponding fstab entry. Also, KDE (3.3) does not pop up an icon on the desktop.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
f
