mount: /dev/OldSys is not a block device

I have a drive I am trying to get data off of from a MythDora 5 distribution (Based on FC 8). The new OS is MythDora 5.

The drive is physically connected to an ATA 100 PCI controller card (on channel 2). There's two drives connected to channel 1 on the PCI card. I have one drive connected to motherboard IDE controller (also has SATA, but not using it).

ls -ald /dev/sd*

I did a vgrename on /dev/sdd2 VolGroup00 to OldSys. When I try to mount it I get:

[root@core2 ~]# mount /dev/sdd2 /mnt/sdd2/
[root@core2 ~]# mount: /dev/sdd2 already mounted or /mnt/sdd2/ busy
[root@core2 ~]# mount /dev/OldSys /mnt/sdd2/
mount: /dev/OldSys is not a block device

When I do an fdisk -l

Disk /dev/sdd: 20.0 GB, 20020396032 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 2434 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0xea58cbf6

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdd1 * 1 25 200781 83 Linux
/dev/sdd2 26 2434 19350292+ 8e Linux LVM

Disk /dev/dm-3: 5905 MB, 5905580032 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 717 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000000

Disk /dev/dm-3 doesn't contain a valid partition table

Any hints on what to do next...?

First don't just do fdisk -l without a target disk unless you want partition table of every disk get listed.
you're trying to mount a PV and VG. you simply can't. you can only mount LVs. do an 'lvscan VG_name' replace VG_name with desired volume group name. then mount the LVs listed. like 'mount -t fs /dev/vg1/lv1 /path'
