motorolla sm56 with Slackware

I have a problem with the motorola sm56 modem. I tried many things but i can 't install it well in Slackware 9.0. What do i have to do for the modem to work properly?

I have the same problem, I installe the drivers fron but it still doesnt work
It seem that no one's got the answer, I asked the same question over and over with no answer

I found in the internet that the motorollaīs driver works, but only with Kernel 2.4.5.
I have the 2.4.21 version and i donīt know if it's convenient to change it. Does that version mount vfat partitions?
