Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Talking Motorola SLVR as a modem

Hello and thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. I recently purchased a Motorola SLVR and it comes with a disc (Motorola Phone Tools). After installing in Windows I was able to use my phone as a modem, I was wondering if anyone knew of any software or of a Motorola Phone Tools alternative for linux that allows me to do the same in linux. I'm using OpenSuSE 10.1 at the moment if that matters using kernel 2.6 in GNOME. Thanks again =)
