More than 4 IDE Devices?
A little question that I think I know the answer to, but want to make sure. My Asus A7V333 Motherboard currently has 2 Optical Drives and 2 Hard Drives hooked up to its IDE1 & IDE2 Channels. I am looking to hook up 1 or 2 more Hard Drives; I know that my motherboard has the OnBoard RAID Option, but I rather not use it. I am wondering if all I need to do is add a PCI IDE Controller Card to do so?
2'nd Question, If hooking up PCI IDE controller card; anyone have any recommendations of an IDE Controller card thatt works well with SuSe 9.2? |
yeah a simple ide card will add hde to hdh. shouldn't ned any special configuration at all.

I have a promise ide controller & two additional hard drives with suse 8.1 and upwards it auto configures. But then I didn't have to configure it for slack, knoppix, xandros, or debian either.
