Angry More Driver Trouble!!!

I posted a message a week or two ago about installing drivers for my NVIDIA GeForce4 on Mandrake 9.0. I was pointed helpfully towards the linux kernel howto, and am fairly sure I know what I'm supposed to do.

The NVIDIA driver consists of a kernel module and a glx rpm, and although I have linked in the kernel driver, and it appears as nvidia in the list of running modules, It still doesn't fulfill the dependencies for installing the glx rpm! I tried overriding it, but it just doesn't work. Why?? I get the message NVIDIA_x.x.x.GLX needs NVIDIA_Kernel.

IMO you should use the tarballs. In my experience I have had much less trouble with them. They are not that hard to use. For a quick rundown http://krohn.dhs.org:200/kenkun.txt

I used the tarballs with Drake 9 and all went well for me.
