monitoring I/O with sar command

Hi,

I need to check the I/O performance on a RH machine.

I tried issuing the command sar -b 1 1 but recieved alll zeros. I suspect that the I/o on this server is very high beacuse it is a mysql server with only one disk. it takes 15 minutes to show the records in th database....

(when I m using a user front end throw a browser),

How can I check it ?

thanks !!

Juan

man sar

It's actually going to be a couple of different sar commands you'll want to run at the same time.

The -b and -d options pop to mind, but read the man page, very informative.
