Monitoring battery condition Ubuntu 20-04

Hello,

Recently I noticed an unexpected rather quick drop of energy in my laptop's battery. Just before I had been trying to open in an editor some files, which apparently weren't supposed to be opened that way. Ubuntu froze, control light kept burning, so the system was working hard -I guess. I had to switch off/on.
Whether there is a relation between the files and the energy-drop I don't know, but I started to look for something smart to control my battery's life cycle.
I found BatteryMon, but for installation I have to open an .exe file. No way.
I'd be interested in some advice!

Regards,
Fré

Take a look at

powertop
, and the Powertop Users Guide.
Code:
upower
is also useful.
