under X windows? under a terminal? Under a framebuffer?
i presume you mean under X windows. in which case i'd suggest using http://koala.ilog.fr/cgi-bin/nph-colas-modelines that. and editing the /etc/XF86Config file by hand to get it perfect.

Refrash rate
I'm new in linux so I dont wanna brake something.I know that bad configuring your display may brake it.I have rh 8.0 and i want to have a good refrash rate.....
Xconfigurator is what??I have try as a command but is not working.I enter /etc/XF86Config to edit but i din't find ModeLine to copy paste the config from http://koala.ilog.fr/cgi-bin/nph-colas-modelines.So what I do??
Have to enter in XF86Config
Section "ModeLine"
.....conf lines......
EndSection???

Xconfigurator is an utility that builds XFree86 config file. You just choose what you have, enter the values etc. Before using it packup your current file. It may be called 'Xconfigurator' or 'XConfigurator' in your system.
