The sync is out of range for graphics.

Take a look at /etc/X11/xorg.conf and check the monitor settings there against what your monitor does. However, it could just be that your video card does not support the rate you have set.

BTW: I cannot be more specific because you havn't told me anything about your computer or monitor. I need to know about the video card and the monitor.

um "more" info is the keyword here but try this when you are in graphical mode (and sync out of range)is on the screen
press "ctrl" + "alt" + "+" (key on the numberpad) at the same time,
this will cycle through resolution settings.

a handy program for the console is midnight commander
if your using a debian based distro the type
#sudo apt-get install mc
then
#sudo mc
and take a look in your /etc/X11 directory for a file called XFree86.conf or xorg.conf
highlight it and press F4 to enter editing mode

in that text file you will see a section like this

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "left"
HorizSync 30-75
VertRefresh 75
Option "DPMS"
EndSection

the VertRefresh is the value you would need to change i find any thing over 85 is overkill IMO.
after any changes you made press F2 to save and F10 twice for the exit dialog then restart x

You'll find that Smasung make a very large number of monitors. To advise you for your specific monitor, I need to know what kind of Samsung you have

Similarily - DELL assemble a wide variety of PCs. I need to know what your computer is made of. What is the video-card for eg.

- but all I would do is look up the specs on the web to see what xorg.conf will need to know.

You can do this yourself.

have you tried?

BTW: also read the advise in my sig. I don't know how you expect assistance with the little information you supply or if you will not even let us in on what you have tried to fix the problem yourself.
