Angry Monitor drivers for Philips 202P40 22"

Hello everybody!

I am about to buy a new monitor. I have been looking at this one:
Philips 202P40 22"
http://www.pba.philips.com/product_d...?product_id=89
http://www.tweak3d.net/reviews/philips/202P40/202P40/

The only thing i a worried about is that i cant find a Linux Driver for it!

Is there a driver available, or is it possible to use a generic driver with the same performance?

I have heard that monitors doesn't really use drivers, but instead those textfiles that contain h-sync, v-sync etc is enough to get it working correctly.

Is this true?
