did u check the manufacturers site for a driver? however, if you can see the display you probably dont need a monitor driver (am i wrong?)
what you need to do is configure the Xserver (the program responsible for the GUI) to suit the needs of your monitor. youll need the vertical and horizontal sync rates.. usually found in the manual for your monitor (or again on the manufacturer's site)
look here on lq.org for manually editing the xorg.conf file, or in the ubuntu manual if it mentions it.
if that doesnt work or you have done that, then maybe try getting the video card drivers and isntalling.
if that doesnt work check your display settings in ubuntu.. what exactly do you mean the display is not good?
