Exclamation Module dependency of LAN Card.

Ok, at last..I got my lan card working on my 2.2.12-14 kernel with vendor supplied driver..but there two silly problem still there...

1. when boot up the redhat 6.2 box it checks for module dependency and show an message:

Finding module dependency:
depmod: *** Unresolved symbol in /lib/modules/2.2.14-12/net/pci-scan.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbol in /lib/modules/2.2.14-12/net/mtd80x.o

but i can view my loaded up using lsmod command.

2. if i issue the command hostname -i it show

hostname: Unknown host

Plz guide me...whats the problem and what about solution ?

Thnx,

N.B: I can ping other hosts to my network and even use internet .. so its appears that my LAN card is working well. But I am worried about module dependency problem.
