http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...searchid=71669 are the results from searching for "speedtouch" on LQ. What model do you have, what have you tried, what has been the result?

And I have moved this to Linux-Hardware.

Welcome to LQ :D

I have a silver model speed touch. I tried to copy mgmt.o from floppy but system refused that. it seems that the system don't recognize the floppy even if Ican open the floppy and fields in. When install fail Mandriva ask to copy mgmt*.o into /usr/share/speedtouch but I it was impossible even if I'm root.
I tried an other way and I succeeded to split config field into lib directory but I did'nt copy it to hotplug because system refuse it.

Hi, I have the same problem, I have had the speedTouch 330 working on Suse and Mandriva 2005. but I am having problems with 2006, but I think its just my lack of understanding linux commands as I am very new to this. Try this link and if you succeed let me know, http://linux-usb.sourceforge.net/SpeedTouch/mandrake/ It can work so keep at it. Adrian here's another couple of links that might help? http://christophe.delord.free.fr/en/adsl/index.html

If anyone is still having a problem with this, I have successfully got my 330 thomson speedtouch working with Mandriva 2006 (with a tiscali account in the uk). I followed Steve Parkers instructions and ran his script. http://steve-parker.org/speedtouchconf/

I first tried installing through the control centre and messing about with mgmt.so file etc, but it did not work .

I have a black modem that is a v4 and used the zip files on the link.

on the Alinux forum. Adrian

also have the revision 4 modem brownish colour

The answer to all your network problems

Buy an ethernet modem, I bought a dlink ethernet modem and I am online as soon as I boot up, have tried 5 different distros and they are all the same, on line with no configuring even live CDs are on line, no more USB rubbish for me.
