Modem snafu in 2.6.7-ck4 (missing /dev/ttyS0)

hi everyone

i have installed kernel 2.6.7 with ck4 patches onto my lsackware 10

the only problam is that when i boot 2.6 i can't get my modem to work even though i compiled with serial port support because /dev/ttyS0 is missing.

root@shannon:/etc/ppp# pppd
pppd: no such device: /dev/ttyS0

it works however in earlier 2.4 kernels???

how do i fix this little problem as i need my internet badly ;)

cheers

Enough mystery - what kind of modem is it (exact make & model)

I gather that you are running Slack 10 with a 2.6x kernel, but please provide specifics on modem. The issue may simply be that a particular kernel module needs to be loaded. -- J.W.

creative labs modem blaster 56k
model number de5720

its a normal serial port one but i cant seem to locate why /dev/ttyS0 is not there?

Fixed my problem!!!

in my kernel config 8250/16550 Serial port support was compiling as a module so i had to kernelise the module for it to work.

lol silly me!!!!!!!!11
