Modem not indentified by Fedora core 2

Hi people. I got a problem with my Fedora Core 2. Currently i split my hard drive in 2 and put windows xp on the first label and fedora on the second label. Modem is identified by windows but when it comes 2 fedora it doesnt. I got a driver CD for my modem but dont know what to do next?

And also can you also tell me how to set up a dial up connection on the fedora core 2.

Thanks for your help.

First of all, you need to check if your modem is a winmodem or not. Next, check if your modem driver cd, offers the linux driver since you will not be able to use the windows driver. I do not know what kind of user you are: i.e. are you new to the linux community or have you been with linux for a long time. In either case, I recommend to you this book, Fedora Red Hat Linux 2 - Bible, by Christopher Negus. It can be a valuable reference and guide for you. He talks about where to look for modem drivers and how to configure all of your hardware. He also mentions great websites. I am also using Fedora Core 2, and that helped me configure my laptop winmodem which was really hard to find. I think you will have better luck on your machine.
