Unhappy modem nortek aphrodite on mandriva linux


Hi! I'm a linux newbie....very very new!! I'm starting with a Mandriva 10.1 on an AMD processor. My first problem is with modem. I've a nortek external serial modem (model aphrodite) and i don't know how to configure it!!! Is there someone who can help me??? I want to surf on the web with my new linux system....and i can't......without a modem!!!!!!!
Help me!!

Are you using KDE? Try opening "Kppp" under "Internet >> Remote Access" from the K-menu.

Open configure >> Modem >> Query Modem...

It should find it for you on ttyS0 (com1) or ttyS1 (com2) You'll need to setup an account to connect using your ISP's login information...
