Angry Modem Intel 537 in linux


I have a modem Intel 537, but it is in real a AMI - IA92, chipset Ambient 3.200 and I can't install it in linux, my distro is slackware 9. I've tried install other drivers but doesn't work.

Someone, please help me, I am almost crazy!!!!

intel modem

Is your modem a 56k v90/v92 PCI data/fax modem?

I think it is v.90

I think that is v.90, but in the box o fax modem there is v.90/v92.

go to intel.com and download them from there, btw i cant make them work on either suse82 or mandrake91

the driver for intel 537 under linux is avaible in linmodems.org

Thumbs up finally the intel 537 driver

In addition to the package available on the Intel site, three more are
available at http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/Intel/537

anyone made a succesfull modem work? with the intel oficial ones for my mandrake9.1 i can get responce from at commands in kpp but the system crashes afeterdialing.

Unhappy Modem in Slackware

It seemed to be correctly installed but, it hangs all the systems when dialing!!!
