this is from the changlog

#

Fri Mar 26 2004 -
# Fixed "hsfserial: falsely claims to have parameter calloutmajor" issue.
# Support pre-built binary packages for 2.6 kernels.
# Support SuSE's new-style kernel config and SetupKernelSource.sh on TurboLinux.

so i would assume, that the driver will work. afaik the older driver source which can be found w/a forum search doesn't work w/2.6.x kernels. imh(humble)o 15$ is not at all a bad price to pay to change a paperwieght into working functioning piece of hardware. hope that helps.
good luck.
