Well I have two networked PC's one with windows and now my old box with red hat 9 , installed everything then realized the old box only has one com port which has my mouse , now I want to set up my modem but only one port.
Is it possible to run both through some kind off double connector?
Are you asking if it's possible to have a mouse and a modem share a single serial port simultaneously? I'm no H/W expert, but I've never heard of such a thing, and at least to me there would be no way this could work. Ordinarily you'd have something like the mouse on COM1 and the modem on COM2, but the idea of having both of them run through a single port together wouldn't fly. At least not to me anyway, but if I'm mistaken by all means somebody please correct me.
Are you sure you don't have a second port available, or would it be possible for you to obtain an internal modem? -- J.W.
