Modem and Com Port

Can anyone tell me how I would find out which Com Port my hardware modem is connected to. I am using Libranet 2.8.1 I have looked in the box, but I am not sure what the numbering protocol is.

If you have wvdial installed, you could use it to scan the ports and look for the modem, e.g. as root
Code:
wvdialconf test
