Modeline from "gtf"

I found out that Apple doesn't provide any tech specs on their monitors (don't know why, but they don't). So I used "gtf" to generate a modeline. I stuck it in my X.org config file, and all was well, except the screen seemed shoved over to the left. There was a black bar at the right of the screen, and I couldn't see or access some of the left of the screen. Everything else seemed fine, though. Can anyone give me any pointers? Thanks.
