mobiles and PC's

Ok, not a linux question, but I was curious.

Can mobile phones damage PC components?
You know that 'dner dner di dner' noise when your phones near a speaker, and the wonderful patterns when you leave your phone near your monitor.

I try to avoid having a mobile near my computer just in case it could affect my hard drive or damage hardware.

Ive never heard of any damage being done before by anyone's phone but just wondering if it has happened before, or anyones heard anything before?

thanks

Never heard of mobiles damaging anything ...

If you want to have fun with mobile interferences try putting it near an electric guitar pickup and make it ring (with guitar plugged and amp turned on, of course)

Sounds perculiar, I'll give that a go...

A thing I did do was, I was recording a message on my answering machine, when I played it to make sure it was ok, I noticed the mobile had interfered, My voice sounded vocoded along with strange 60's phycaldelic (spelling unknown) beatlesque effects, sounded cool.
