ML-2510 print problem -crashes system

this is posted to try to help any others with a similar problem in the future.

i recently upgraded my mb and started having problems with the printer crashing the linux system whenever i printed. i used the same hd and original ubuntu 8.04 install that had been working fine prior to mb upgrade.

it would completely and immediately reboot whenever i printed. after many attempts to fix it with other ideas from the internet etc., samsung website etc. i found the problem to be the cups print system. i simply reinstalled all the cups software and it fixed the problem. the print system worked ok with local printing but not from the email, internet etc which is how i found it.
