MiniPCI High Power Cards (Thinkpad T23)

i have an IBM Tinkpad T23. as a network device i'm currently using a Senao 2511 PCMCIA card with external antenas.
I would like to get a 400mW miniPci card (SuperRange 2).
i'm aware that i'l have to give up on the modem currently installed in the miniPci slot, but i have doubts if the laptop is able to supply the power needed by the card.
as IBM customer support was of no help on this matter I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE ON TAKING SUCH A DECIZION (after all it's a card with a price exceding 100$, not to talk about the risk of fryinf the laptop itself)
Thank you.
