MIDI Keyboard with SBLive!, ALSA + Wine

I'm trying desperately to figure this one out. I've got plenty of MIDI input coming through /dev/midi00 and /dev/snd/midiC0D0 but I cannot get any MIDI input into Muzys (A windows application running with Wine and the wineoss.drv driver). I've tried the winealsa.drv driver but that doesnt work at all (no audio) so I use the OSS emulation. I get a choice of 5 MIDI ports, the MPU-401 UART, and 4 Wavetables, but none recieve any MIDI data from the keyboard.

Any ideas as to how I can get this to work?

one more thing, if its easier to get the usb-midi driver working i'd be grateful if someone could tell me how to install it (its an evoloution MK249C).

Setting up MIDI in Linux is very tricky and long. Look at the site below.
