I'm trying to use my midi keyboard in ZynAddSubFX (a thoughly awsome program), but I've yet to get any response with the actual midi keyboard. I can play it with the on screen keyboard, but that's only fun for a little bit. (I've also tried RoseGarden, Beast, Muse, and anything else I could apt-get. Same result.)
I've tried the HOWTO's around here and got my computer to play midi files, which is nice, but not what I need. In /dev, I have sequencer and sequencer2, both of which claim to be unavailable:
