Microsoft keyboard question

Just bought a Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000.
It works with Mandriva 2005 LE but not with Mandriva 2006.
Changing the settings in Drakconfig did not help.

Any ideas on how to get this keyboard working?

Firs of all, getting a windows specific keyboard working could be tricky... What do you mean it does not work??

When typing in kwrite, nothing happens.
No letters appear.
I'm not concerned with the multimedia or internet keys.

It works with Mandriva 2005LE.
One would think it would work with Mandriva 2006.

Yeah, right. It's just... you know, those fancy user-friendly distro's are pretty useless at times. Hmm. Does it work with GNOME? Is the problem KDE-specific?
