Microsoft Internet Keyboard: Can I use the hotkeys?

I have a Microsoft Internet Keyboard and I have hotkeys on top (home, refresh, calc, mail, search, etc).
Question is, is there any way I can use the hot keys?
I'm using MandrivaLinux 2006; KDE 3.4.

You can use lineak. But it requires some hacking around. There is a rpm package for it. Also install klineak (or something like that).

I don't remember exatly what to do next, but you must at least: configure lineak via command line or klineak (last one recommended), define an action for each key (for example play song in Amarok) and get lineakd to start at startup (for KDE, put a shortcut of lineakd (I have command: lineakd &) in .../.kde/Autostart/).

I have used lineak in that past, and while it was OK, it never made every key function. I just recently found keytouch. Much to my pleasure, every single key 30+ extra key configurations worked perfectly.

Have a look at it, it may be exactly what you are looking for.

I installed that keytouch, but what's next? I don't see anything.

I was going through stuff and I happen to come across "keytouch".
Within a short moment, I soon tried out the hotkeys and to my amazement, they were working. "Home" came up right as I clicked on the "My Computer" home key.
I then came across the one I used the most, email, that didn't work.
I thought I'd select program and type in kmail.
Turns out, I soon came across what it supports, kontact, which is part of kmail.
It works! I had to redo kcalc, but that even works!
