Unhappy Microphone stopped working in Thinkpad T14/Manjaro

My microphone stopped being recognized in my various applications I use for conferencing a few days ago (it may be related to a kernel upgrade, but I can't tell for sure). In the Manjaro settings I can't see it at all and in pulse audio it appears as (unplugged) (unavailable)

I tried using arecord without any luck. I managed to record a file using what I believe to be the correct PCM (hw:1,0), bit it just plays back nothing.

Here is the output of alsa-info.sh:

http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=eac71a...2b1f13ee5fa06d

Any idea what could be wrong? The microphone works fine in Windows.

Thanks!

aplay shows card 0 is HDMI.....first arecord device shows as card 1.

check the mic is active and raise volumes for card1

Code:
alsamixer -c1 -Vall
use the -> to navigate to your capture device
press space bar to toggle off or on capture

press page up or arrows to adjust volumes

retest record.

2) you may need to go into pavucontrol and re-config to make your default device analog.

Personally I do not use HDMI so I disable it YMMV

Sorry, that was a typo on my part. I edited the post with the correct value (hw:1,0)
I can adjust the gain and toggle the capture to be on. The recording completes with this command:

arecord -f S32_LE -c 2 -r 192000 -d 5 -D hw:1,0 test-mic.wav

but I don't hear anything when i play it back. If I just do this:

arecord -d 5 -D hw:1,0 test-mic.wav

it says 'Channels count non available'

also in pavucontrol I can't see any input device

You running long term are or rolling update Arch.
Install pavucontrl and select your input and output per device and program.
Why I asked longterm or rolling.
Because Arch is looking to do away with puslaudio and go entirely to pipewire.
but they are also doing both so that is Arch man that is what Manjaro uses.

I've mentioned in my last post - I can't see any input or recording device in pavucontrol (except a monitor). I've also tried connecting a pair of bluetooth headphones which used to work fine, and I can't use its microphone either (sound works fine though).

I'm using a Manjaro rolling distribution. How in the world do I get my microphones to work again?

the latest alsa package update was at fault. In case anyone happens to find this, the solution is to install the previous version of the package (or wait until the issue is fixed, apparently it's already working in the testing branch)

Code:
cd /var/cache/pacman
sudo pacman -U alsa-lib-1.2.4-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst lib32-alsa-lib-1.2.4-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
I did just that and my microphone is back in business
