micro sd card built-in security?

I was just reading http://www.cdfreaks.com/hardware/product/70645-Sandisk-microSD8482-1GB.html a product page for a 1GB microSD card and it listed this feature:
Quote:
Built-in security features enable users to download, store, and play secure content just like an SD card.
does anybody know what that means exactly? I thought sd cards were just flash storage, what kind of built-in security are they talking about? they don't have any weird u3 type stuff do they? and whats that about downloading secure content and playing it like an sd card?

It's probably referring to the built-in DRM capability of the SD format, which is part of the reason they are called "Secure Digital" cards. As you may recall, Secure Digital is an expansion of the old MMC flash standard with some newer "security" measures added.

The fact that almost nobody uses this idiotic DRM stuff doesn't mean they can't still hype it up as if it were a good thing.
