Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Mic not working

Hello all - I am using Slackware 10.1 with kernel 2.6.11.7

My problem is that when I fire up skype to talk to people, my mic is just not working for me. In win$ is works fine, but linux is much cooler. So I have a Creative SB Audigy 2 card in there, alsa picks it up fine, and I've played with all the settings in alsamixer. Here's where it gets interesting-

If I run amarok (using xine engine) the output of amarok will go thru the skype connection and find itself on my friend's computer. Not exactally what I wanted. Also, if I fire up kmix (thinking there's something I could check off in the input section) the inputs section is completely empty.

Otherwise, all my playback is fine, it seems like the audio-in is giving me all the troubles.

here's lsmod for you
Code:
#lsmod
